After a washout in the first game of the new Crusaders/CV Colts, we ventured to Eastern Oval, Ballarat on Sunday to take on the Ballarat CA U/21's. Winning the toss and electing to bat, The Crusaders started shakily at 1/18 before Ryan Stingel and Noah Croes put on 103 for the second wicket. Stingel departed for 26 as Croes continued on his glorious innings before being dismissed for 97 with the score at 160. A very well compiled 62 from Zane Donnazzon and late innings runs from Callum McIlveen (23) insured the Crusaders made a competitive 9/262. Jenkins was the pick of the bowlers for Ballarat picking up 3/25 off 8 overs.
In reply Ballarat looked to be in trouble at 6/90 however Moyle 103* and Hedey 99* came together to put on a match winning partnership to get Ballarat over the line. Luke Stow 2/26 off 8 was the pick of the Crusaders bowlers. Many thanks to all the boys that committed to playing this fixture, the Ballarat CA for preparing a brilliant pitch, outfield and lunch and for Narelle Stow for scoring. Looking forward to the next Crusader/CV Colts fixture on the 9th of December against Mornington CA U/21's
